SZA won’t be snoozing through the Grammy Awards because this should be her moment.
The alt-R&B/soul songstress leads the pack heading into the 66th annual Grammy Awards Sunday night with nine nominations, including record, song and album of the year.
Rounding out the cream of the Grammys crop are Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift, who each boast six nominations.
Early winners included SZA (with Phoebe Bridgers), Peso Pluma and Eilish.
Other top contenders include indie-pop darling Bridgers, R&B singer Victoria Monét and audio engineer Serban Ghenea with seven nods each. Monét, a songwriter known for her collaborations with T.I., Blackpink and Ariana Grande, is nominated for best new artist.
The star-studded ceremony, featuring performances by Eilish, Rodrigo and British pop star Dua Lipa, airs live on CBS (8 p.m. EST/5 PST) from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will also stream live and on demand on Paramount+ with Showtime. Early awards are being handed out prior to the telecast and streaming live at live.GRAMMY.com.
