RHOBH's Teddi Mellencamp Shares Emotional Divorce Update in First Podcast Since Edwin Arroyave Split
Teddi Mellencamp is taking it one day at a time amid her divorce from Edwin Arroyave.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum addressed her recent breakup head-on in her first podcast since announcing she and her husband of 13 years are separating.
“I am doing alright,” Teddi—who shares kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4, with her ex—told her Two T's in a Pod co-host Tamra Judge during their Nov. 5 episode. “At this point, I’m obviously only gonna share what I shared on social media. I don’t even know how to say this eloquently, but I’m just trying my hardest to make sure that my kids’ privacy is protected right now and that we’re able to have all of these conversations.”
The former Bravo star also explained her decision to announce the split last week one day after she officially filed for divorce in L.A. on Nov. 1.
“I just didn’t want it to blow up, and for anybody that’s curious why I would have posted a statement, it’s because when your name is recognizable and you file in the court system, it becomes public,” Teddi noted. “I know that I am gonna keep working on feeling my best so that I can show up the best for my kids and my life and my work. I think that’s the biggest thing for me right now.”
However, the 43-year-old isn't quite ready to share details regarding what specifically led to her and Edwin's sudden split.
“Being somebody who recaps other people’s things, ‘Don’t be a hypocrite, Teddi,’” she said, addressing curious fans who want the full story. “But when it does come to this and children, I think there’s just room. It’s a little bit different than getting into ‘Jen Aydin reveals text exchange with Andy Cohen.’”
Teddi’s comments about the former couple’s breakup comes several days after she first announced the split Nov. 2 on Instagram.
"After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," she wrote. "My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter."
"Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do," she added, "but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward."
While Edwin has yet to publicly comment on the split, he did allude to getting through "dark days" in a recent cryptic Instagram Story.

A rep for Nikki confirmed to E! News on Sept. 11 that the WWE Hall of Famer filed paperwork to divorce Artem—with whom she shares son Matteo—after two years of marriage.

Linda listed “irreconcilable differences” in court documents obtained by E! News, with her estranged husband later sharing that infidelity was "not the reason" they split.
