The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for more than 150,000 Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler hybrids recalled for a fire risk.

Are you looking to see if any recalls were issued on your vehicle? If the car isn't listed below, owners can check USA TODAY’s automotive recall database or search NHTSA’s database for new recalls. The NHTSA website allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number or VIN.

Here is what you need to know about the vehicle recalls published by NHTSA from Sept. 29 to Oct. 5.

NHTSA Investigation:Regulators investigate possible braking error in over 360,000 Ford crossover SUVs

Volkswagen recall for an incorrect brake part

Volkswagen is recalling 1,467 of its 2024 Atlas and 2024 Atlas Cross Sport vehicles. The NHTSA report said that “the brake master cylinder may have been assembled with an incorrect secondary piston spring retainer, which can block the brake fluid port.” An obstructed brake fluid port can cause a driver to lose their brake function. This issue will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.

Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Nov. 26. Owners may contact Volkswagen Customer Relations at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 471F.

Mercedes-Benz recall for an airbag that may deploy improperly

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 10,655 of its 2021-2022 GLE 350 and 2021-2022 GLE 450 vehicles. The luxury vehicles company said in the NHTSA report that “the front acceleration sensor's wiring harness may be routed incorrectly which can prevent the front airbags from deploying properly.” If an airbag does not deploy properly, it can increase the risk of injury during a crash, the report said.

In addition, the NHTSA report said that these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208, ‘Occupant Crash Protection.’”

Dealers will inspect and reroute the wiring harness for free if necessary. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Nov. 26. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372.

Harley-Davidson recall for incorrect tire pressure label

Harley-Davidson is recalling 12,929 of its 2018-2019 motorcycles. The NHTSA report said “the front tire inflation pressure on the VIN label may be less than the stated front gross axle weight rating.” Incorrect tire pressure information may result in overloading the front tire. This will increase the risk of a crash, the report said.

These motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other than Passenger Cars", the report said.

To resolve the issue, Harley-Davidson will mail labels with installation instructions and owner's manual inserts to the owners for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by mid-late November 2024. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 414-343-4056. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0628.

Nissan recall for a fire risk

Nissan is recalling 23,887 of its 2019-2020 LEAF vehicles that are equipped with a Level 3 quick charging port. The automotive manufacturer said in the NHTSA report that “the lithium-ion battery may overheat during Level 3 charging.” A quick charging battery that overheats will increase the risk of a fire, the report said.

Nissan is warning owners not to use Level 3 quick charging until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the battery software for free. Interim recall letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be sent in October 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available. The remedy is expected to be published in November 2024. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R24B2.

Tesla recall for rearview camera issue

Tesla is recalling 27,185 of its 2024 Cybertruck vehicles. In the NHTSA report the automotive company said that “the rearview camera image may be delayed after shifting into reverse.” If a rearview image is delayed or does not display, it can fail to show what is behind the driver’s vehicle. This issue can increase the risk of a crash, the report said.

In addition, the NHTSA said that the Tesla Cybertruck “fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, ‘Rear Visibility.’”

To fix the issue, Tesla has released an over-the-air software update for owners of the affected vehicles. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Nov. 25. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-016.

Stellantis recalls

Ram 1500 for a turn signal malfunction

Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler, is recalling 129,313 of its 2023-2024 Ram 1500 vehicles. The automotive company said that “the turn signal self-canceling feature may not function properly”, the NHTSA report said.  When a driver's turn signal does not function properly, it will fail to indicate to other drivers if the vehicle plans to change direction. This malfunction can increase the risk of a crash, the report said.

The NHTSA also noted that the Ram 1500 "fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, 'Lamps, Reflective devices, and Associated Equipment.'"

“A review of customer feedback led to a company investigation that discovered certain 2023 and 2024 model-year Ram 1500 trucks may have been built with steering column control modules that are out of specification,” Frank Matyok, a spokesperson for Stellantis said in a statement to USA TODAY.  “These may not allow the self-canceling turn-signal feature to function correctly.”

Matyok also added that there have not been any reports of injuries.

As a remedy, dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module, as necessary. This service will be completed for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be delivered by Oct. 29. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is A1B.

“Turn signals in affected vehicles may still be manually canceled,” Matyok said.

Matyok said that an estimated amount of Ram 1500s are being recalled in the following countries:

Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler hybrids recalled for fire risk

About 154,032 Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler hybrids are being recalled. Chrysler reported the recall to the NHTSA on Friday, saying affected cars' high-voltage batteries may fail internally and lead to a fire.

A statement from Stellantis said 13 fires had been reported in parked cars affected by the issue. According to the company, about 5% of affected vehicles may have a defect.

Dealers will update the high voltage battery pack software and replace the battery pack assembly, if necessary, free of charge. Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed on Oct. 17. Vehicles in this recall that were previously recalled for the same issue under NHTSA Recall 23V-787 will need to have the new remedy performed.
