DJ Moore is first Bears wide receiver since 1999 to win NFC Offensive Player of the Week
Eight receptions, 230 yards, and three touchdowns. Week 4 was a breakout performance from Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore in the team's 40-20 victory over the Washington Commanders, and it was enough to earn him NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
This is the first time a Bears wide receiver has earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors since Marcus Robinson in 1999.
What did Marcus Robinson do when he won the award?
1999 was the best season of Marcus Robinson's nine year career. It was Robinson's sophomore season, racking up 84 receptions for 1400 yards and nine touchdowns. During Week 15, Robinson went off for 11 receptions, 170 yards, and three touchdowns in the Bears' 28-10 win over the Detroit Lions.
DJ Moore's 2023 stats
Already, DJ Moore has racked up more receiving yards in five games (531) than any Bears receiver recorded all of last season. While Cole Kmet had 544 yards through the air last year, the team's leading wide receiver was Darnell Mooney with just 493 yards.

DJ Moore's five touchdowns through five games would also rank him second (Cole Kmet - 7) among all 2022 Bears receivers.
Moore is currently on pace for 92 receptions, 1805 yards, and 17 touchdowns. Those numbers would rank him ninth, first, and first, respectively, in Chicago Bears history. The current all-time leaders are:
- Receptions: 2012 Brandon Marshall (118)
- Receiving Yards: 2012 Brandon Marshall (1508)
- Receiving Touchdowns: 1970 Dick Gordon & 1947 Ken Kavanaugh (13)
