Knicks Player Ogugua Anunoby Nearly Crashes Into Anne Hathaway and Her Son During NBA Game
Anne Hathaway and her son got a courtside surprise.
The Princess Diaries star had a rare outing with her husband Adam Schulman and their youngest son Jack, 4, at the New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls game at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Nov. 12, and the family became part of the action.
Gametime cameras caught the moment that Knicks player Oguguan”OG” Anunoby, was defending the Bulls and while attempting to steal a pass, OG lost his footing and crashed into the scoring table.
The guard was able to catch himself before crashing directly into Anne, 42, and Jack—who were sitting right behind the table. However, he did knock over jack’s popcorn.
Little Jack—who rocked a Knicks home jersey—was left stunned by the moment, while the Idea of You actress can be seen comforting him.
Giving a play-by-play of the moment, the game announcer said, “Anunoby’s scaring those along the sidelines, pointing out Jack in particular, another announcer added, “The lil kid was mesmerized. He couldn’t move.”
Anne didn’t let the moment (or the spilled popcorn) get her son down as they enjoyed the rest of the game, where the Knicks fell short to the Bulls by one point.
In addition to Jack, Anne and Adam—who got married in 2012—are parents of son Jonathan, 8.
Anne and Adam have kept their children largely out of the spotlight and away from social media. In an interview with Net-A-Porter, the WeCrashed actress opened up about her decision not to thrust her boys into the spotlight.
“It’s something I feel is not just essential for my health,” she said at the time. “I’m on a team, it’s my family, and it’s not just about me. My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives. It doesn’t even occur to me to link the two up, except through gratitude that they serve each other so beautifully. But they serve each other through me, and not through a space that’s outside of myself.”
